A Fantastic Night at Up Close Theatre's Club Night!

Last Friday's Up Close Theatre Club Night was a huge success, with a great turnout and plenty of laughter! 🎉 We had the pleasure of doing a blind read of Sheila's Island by Tim Firth—a brilliantly witty and sharp comedy that kept us all entertained from start to finish. 😂

For those unfamiliar with the play, Sheila's Island is a hilarious yet darkly comic story about four middle-aged women stranded on a team-building exercise gone terribly wrong. Think Lord of the Flies, but with office politics, passive-aggressive power struggles, and a lot more sarcasm! 🏝️💬

Doing a blind read meant diving into the script without prior preparation, leading to some truly spontaneous and often hilarious moments. 🤣 The gathered performers did a fantastic job bringing the characters to life, capturing their quirks and personalities with real energy and enthusiasm. 👏

A huge thank you to everyone who came along! 🙌 If you missed out this time, don't worry—keep an eye on our Facebook, Instagram, and website diary 📅 for details of our next Club Night. We'd love to see you there! 🎭✨

It was also wonderful to welcome a couple of new faces 😊, who joined us just to listen, soak up the atmosphere, and enjoy a drink at The Hunters Inn. 🍷 That's exactly what Club Nights are all about—whether you want to perform, write, or simply enjoy an evening of theatre in great company, everyone is welcome! ❤️
